As people we all make choices. What do we want to eat, who we want to love and if we choose to or not to worship. This collection is in an effort to realize that those who worship have a lot in common. In this collection we will experience a hit list of poetry through the word and experience of someone who has lived to worship through music and experience. In Beat of… we hear of the passion that is created when music is a part of storytelling. Through the representation of experiences from different people and honest love the music comes through in the poem. In Rejuvenation we realize that often what we need is that one moment to ourselves to once again breathe life into our souls and just rejuvenate. In Amen we wrap up this collection with prayer. A reminder of what prayer should be, where the focus should live and that saying “thank you” is of the utmost importance.
Joy of Praise Music
Beat of…
Deep down in the south there is this an
Unremarkable
Unexplainable
Unexpected
Undeniable
Experience that only happens in the best of churches
Deep down by past the
Peaches of Georgia
Creole cuisine of Louisiana
Make a left at the Blues of Mississippi
Ride slow past the boot wearing long horns of Texas
And go a little bit deeper
Past the state of mind of presence of being
Further south than you have ever gone
To a place of free will and open thought
The laughs come from my soul when I speak of
This place that is not on a map and yet it is on the
Right corner of the right street in the right city
Town
Rural sometimes
Mega church sometimes
But this thing this… rhythm and peace and joy.
