CarolAnn is just like all the other middle schoolers, she's into weird things, does weird things and on this particular day she is taking her best friend Suzie down to a special location for a special reason. As they approached the abandoned house on the corner Suzie is very much surprised while CarolAnn is mesmerized. They make their way into the house and their true purpose comes to life; CarolAnn has been granted one wish but she had to come to the house in order to retrieve it. After much contemplation CarolAnn has decided that what she wants more than anything else is a duplicate of herself, but she needs this alter ego to look just like her and do all the things that she does in a normal day school, homework, parents, parents, parents! She also needs to make sure that her alter ego self is able to change her little sisters’ diapers and blend into her middle school life. But once the DemonAnn comes on the scene it is quickly realized that things have gotten completely out of control. Suzie takes it upon herself to try her best to get rid of DemonAnn by returning back to the abandoned house. She sweetly explains to the wish giver that all CarolAnn really wanted was someone to be her because she was experiencing being overwhelmed and just wanted some rest. This is the story about the difficulties of being a teenager and how those things can manifest themselves. It also speaks to the child like qualities that allow them to still believe they can wish and make it all go away or wish and make their dreams come true.
