Strength of Hello Kitty

$40.00Price
  • Painting pictures as I focus my eyes out the window

Of the bus that smelled of street hot dogs

That we all had to try

    Mustard was the only condiment

And I wanted “the red stuff”

    As I called ketchup

    But not on these streets

The streets of New York City.

    The city that never sleeps

The city where in Times Square it seems as though night

    Never actually comes.

    So bright all the time

Eyes piercing as we rounded the corner

I stood in the middle of the isle

    The bus was so big

My little sister hot on my heels

    Mouths opened

Dropped to the floor like our puppy when she’s tired

    There it was

The bright lights of a place

    We had only dreamed of.
